Duotone is the alias for Cellist / Composer Barney Morse-Brown.
An acclaimed
musician known for his masterful use of live looping and effects.
Originally trained in
baroque performance Morse-Brown’s inventive and playful approach merges the voice of the cello with electronics. Spanning classical music, new classical, folk and electronica. He has written and produced 5 albums and 3 ep’s.
His compositions explore the ephemeral otherworldly experiences of life and death, often working with themes of loss, longing, loneliness and the fragility of life.
Cellist for Robert Plant & Saving Grace as well as bands such as Hack Poets Guild, Birdy, Maya Youssef, Chris Wood, Imagined Village & Eliza Carthy.
He has toured worldwide with highlights such as Sydney Opera House, Olympia - Paris, Green Man, End of the Road & Cambridge Folk Festival.
Morse-Brown's compositions have been featured on a number of soundtracks including Close (Netflix) Deceit (Channel 4) Culprits (Disney +) and most recently for Channel 5
series Too Good to be True. Other projects include commissions for Falling Tree Productions, Radio 4 and a collaboration with 201 Dance Company's adaptation of

Valley of the Forgotten, his most recent Cello-led 5th album showcases his
extraordinary ability to push the sonic limits of the Cello through his use of effects and unique playing style.
